BIEBER FEVER

So, February brought this little gem...

We took the girls to go see this movie & Erik & I were hooked. Sad to say, but totally true. We have Bieber Fever now. Cute kid, cute story & made me cry. Although, so did THIS. I loved the shots of his parents & grandparents crying - those get me every time. Dang movie! Now I like Justin Bieber! UGH!!!

200

This is my 200th post. Why not make it a big one?! :) Actually, just thought I'd share that I saw this movie...

I saw the midnight showing with a friend. We actually did the double feature where we saw Twilight first & then New Moon. As we all know, I'm a fan. I've kept myself pretty well contained lately. Here's Bonnie & I before it starts.... (I'm not good with the one arm pictures, so it is what it is.)

Well, I loved it! It was way better than Twilight & I'm not usually a huge sequel person. You could definitely tell the budget was "beefed" up. I'm a little bit closer to being a Jacob fan, but not quite! It was a blast & I'm glad I got to go. I told myself I wasn't going to do a midnight showing, but I'm glad I went. Bonnie cracks me up & it was fun seeing it with her! Thanks again Bonnie!!

DINNER

OK - I've said this before, but felt like saying it again. I HATE DINNER!!! I'm having major struggles trying to figure out what to feed my family for the next couple of days. I have just spent 2 hours looking on recipe blogs & have come up empty. UGH!! Anyone out there have any good recipe sites? If so, please send them my way!!

Also, I just washed our Summer Movie Fun passes. Yeehaw! That means I yet again win the Mother of the Year Award as my kids are EXTREMELY upset at me right now for that. Anyone have any extras, by chance?

NEW MOON GOSSIP

Aaron & Chanelle this is for you. (I need to keep Aaron informed on all the "Twilight" gossip because he loved the movie sooo much.) Just ran across this on the imdb website....

***THIS IS A FALSE STORY!! JUST READ THAT IT IS FAKE ON STEPHENIE'S WEBSITE! YEAH!!! STILL SILLY THOUGH & THAT IT MADE IT ALL OVER THE PLACE ON THE INTERNET IS NUTS!!***

New Moon 'Halted Over Lawsuit'
20 April 2009 5:04 AM, PDT From wenn.com See recent WENN news

Twilight sequel New Moon has been thrown into jeopardy - author Stephenie Meyer is facing a plagiarism lawsuit over the vampire franchise, according to reports.

The original 2008 movie - starring Robert Pattinson - was a major international hit and has spawned a follow-up which is currently being shot in Canada. The film franchise is based on the popular book series, written by Meyer.

But production on the second film has reportedly been halted following claims Meyer is facing legal action from her former college roommate, who is said to have accused the writer of basing the novels on her ideas.

According to I'mnotobsessed.com, Heidi Stanton - who studied alongside Meyer at Brigham Young University, Utah - claims the vampire books are similar to a short story she wrote when she was a student there.

Stanton filed her lawsuit against Meyer in Utah last Tuesday, alleging idea infringement.
She states in the papers, "Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together."

Meyer claims the premise for the popular series came to her in a dream in June 2003 and she completed the first novel three months later.

And the legal battle has reportedly cast doubt on the highly-anticipated New Moon, with production being "put on hold" until the case is resolved, according to the website.

New Moon is scheduled for release at the end of the year.

**Ok - here's my take on this. In case anyone cares. For one - uh - REALLY?! You mean to tell me that this girl knew Stephenie in college, has heard all the hype about the series for the past 6 years & never read the book?! Instead waited for 6 years for a movie to come out & then decides it's based after a "short story" of hers. Does anyone else find this fishy? I just think that's crazy & I can almost guarantee that if her picture ever gets out she'll have some crazy, angry teenagers after her. Wow!!

P.S. - Ren - I love you, but I still don't feel for you!! :) :)

MY WEEKEND

First off, I'm going to do this a little out of order. I'm going to start with Saturday. I spent most of the day at the boutique mentioned in the previous post. It was fun. Not as busy as I'd hoped, but still good. If anything, it was worth hanging out with Shelley all day. She's a blast to be with.

After the boutique was over I rushed home to host a combined birthday party. Actually, Mignon did all of the work - we just used my house. It was for my nephew Carter, my Erik & my Grandma Smith. It was quite the occasion since it was my Grandma's 90th! She's such an amazing women. We're still trying to decipher all of her crazy stories in life.

Yes, Erik's birthday was last Thursday. He is now 35 years old. He's getting up there & we love to tease him about it. Especially since he really doesn't care. I am blessed to have him in my life. He is wonderful. Here's just one of the many reasons why he's great & how I will now tie in my Friday night.....

We were lucky enough to go out on Friday for Erik's birthday. What does he chose to do? Go see TWILIGHT!! Gotta love that man! I thought for sure he would have picked 007, but he didn't. He was interested to see how Twilight would turn out - as well as me being absolutely giddy about it, so we went to see it. He said it was OK, of course. And I LOVED IT, of course! I'm as bad as all of the swooning teenage girls that were in the theater with us. What I loved most was the fact that people were cheering & screaming in the movie. It was great! When does that ever happen? Plus, everyone I've talked to that has seen it said people were vocal in their showings as well. Sure, it was cheesey in parts & you could tell it was a low budget film. But, that was half the charm I thought. I'm actually leaving my home to see it again in an hour by myself because I can't stand it! I have to see it again! Another thing I loved was the fact that my sis RUBY called me last night to tell me that she might be in love with Edward. She's never read the books, but LOVED the movie as well. Thanks RUBY that really made my day! Now get reading!!

Hope everyone else had a fun weekend like I did. I can't remember the last time I had a weekend packed with excitement like this that I just had to write about. So, now, in honor of my new texting fun with REN & RUBY (We like to randomly text quotes from the movie to each other.) here's a quote for ya...
"I only said it would be better for you if we weren't friends. Not that I didn't want to." - E.C.

Check below for the answers to the quotes. Major kudos to Valerie who got one of the hard ones - Albus Dumbledore's quote from Harry Potter. And how is it that only EmmaLee knew the easy ones? I would have thought those were a given! At any rate, good job Emm. You deserve a ride on my "shlip 'n' shlide". Shweeet!! Wow! I'm tired & getting silly - I need to go to bed....

QUOTES

Just for kicks...

Erik & I LOVE movies. We quote them quite often as well & usually laugh our heads off at our quotes. Although most people probably have no clue what we're saying. I've listed just 10 of some of our quotes & I'm curious to see if ANYONE can guess them all. To be honest - if someone can guess them all - I will be in utter shock & will probably owe them a treat of some kind. Some of them are pretty easy & if you don't know them I will wonder what kind of a rock you live under. So, here we go - try it out....

1. It's our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
Albus Dumbledore - Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets

2. Get him a body bag!
Karate Kid

3. She shouldn't be too hard to find - she's standing right next to you.
Jason Bourne - Bourne Supremacy (I admit, this is not exact)

4. You are my life now.
Edward - Twilight (Iknow it's not out yet, but it is a movie coming out & he does say it. I saw it on a commercial. So, this was kind of a trick.)

5. Hold on to your lugnuts - it's time for an overhaul!
(This is in no way a clue, but we say this all the time in the car to our girls when they need to hold on. Most parents hold out their hands & say "Hold on", but we say the previous quote.)
Jim Carrey in The Mask

6. You're not too bright are you?
Seth Green in Italian Job - making fun of "Handsome Rob"

7. No way! I'm on Steven's team.
Jim Carrey in Cable Guy (Seriously underated show. It's HI-larious & Erik's favorite all time movie.)

8. We both know I'm training to become a cage fighter.
Kip - Napoleon Dynamite

9. Worst of all I never learned how to read!
Wayne - Wayne's World

10. Johnny always wanted to ride the Gauntlet. I just gave him his wish.
Kevin Bacon in The River Wild (This is Erik's other favorite movie)

BATMAN

I saw the movie today & LOVED IT!!! I am a HUGE Jason Bourne fan & these are right up there! Who doesn't love Christian Bale? Especially after "Newsies"!! He's awesome! And Heath - he's amazing. I have to admit, I was a little creeped out to go see him play such a psycho character because of his untimely passing & just loving him. But, not enough to not go see it & he truly was wonderful. I think it helped that he sounds nothing like himself & has make-up on the whole time. Except for one split second shot. Definitely a must see. On the movie sight I found this great memorial to Heath....

HAIRSPRAY

Finally saw this movie this weekend & LOVED it!! Whoever thought this movie would make me literally laugh out loud? John Travolta was histerical. If you haven't seen it yet I would strongly suggest it. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD just so I can see the outtakes!
