June 3rd

We woke up this morning & the girls went to get their haircut. Jay just got a trim, but Kylie wanted hers chopped! Being the bright Mother I am - I didn't take pictures! Don't worry - there's plenty to see in the coming pics from our trip. She got 11" cut & is excited to donate it to Locks for Love.

After the hair appointments Erik & I were able to do a session at the St. George temple. It's been a long time since we've been through here. It was fun! My mom took the girls to a little swimming party at a neighbors house while we went. Thanks mom!!

After our session we picked up the girls & went back into town. Rennie was in town visiting her family, so we met up with them. We took the kids to a park, ate at Arctic Circle (another Utah place we hit when we're here), and then had shaved ice at a Snow Shack.

Here's Kylie's first pic with her short hair. Not the best after playing at the park, but you get the idea! Plus, she loves this one because it's with her cousin Lainie!

June 2nd

On the morning of June 1st we started our annual trip to visit my Mom in St. George. (Actually, she lives in Dammeron Valley about 15 miles outside of St. George.) We spent most of the day driving. But, go their safe & sound.
The next morning we went into town. (St. George) When it came time for lunch Erik wanted something that you can only get here. Which means we had to make a trip to The Pizza Factory. A fun little joint. If you like pizza that is. Which I, of course, do not. Still fun though. In the back of Pizza Factories building there's a little courtyard. We like to take pictures their. So, we did. The car, however, is in front of a little store next door to Pizza Factory.

Our trip in town also consisted of a little visit to Tai Pan! Gotta love that store & the fact that they now sell Scentsy style candle wax for a cheaper price. YAHOO!! That was a fun find for me!
Then, we went hiking in my mom's backyard. We took a longer hike with the girls & they were real troupers about it. Normally, they get tired & bored pretty quick. But, we had a lot of fun exploring & hiking to the manmade rock formation on top of the next mountain/hill.

After our hike we were ready to relax on the back porch & watch the sunset. The girls hung out with dad on the big hammock!

This also is the last day for Kylie & her long hair!

JADYN'S 6

Our little Jay-Bird is now 6 years old! All I have to say is - WOW!! Where did the time go? And at the same time - wasn't she 6 two years ago? I can't believe it's been 6 years. Yet, she hasn't changed much in the past couple of years. Erik & I laugh all of the time about how she's been the same for awhile. I guess that's what happens when you start walking at 10 months or because you're talking in complete sentences at 18 months. Or when you basically potty-train yourself at 2. Maybe it's because we did nothing to help her learn how to read or write. Or since she knows how to add & subtract without even thinking about it. She's just a smart little kid. We love her dearly & she's such a joy in our home!!

The festivities began with a birthday party on Saturday the 30th with some of her friends....

This was my attempt at making a birthday cake. Keep in mind that I've never taken a class or anything. I just assumed I could maybe do it because I watch Ace of Cakes all of the time. HA! It was hard & didn't come out anything like I had planned. It took a majority of my morning on Friday to make & I almost threw it out because I was getting fo frustrated with it. Oh well! Some people liked it & thought it was cute. Just don't look too close!

Mimi & Papa even came to her party. We couldn't find Papa for awhile & we found him here...

The morning of the 31st - her actual birthday - began with breakfast in bed.

Kylie even read a book to her while she ate. Then came the presents. After which it was time to get ready for church & then we spent the rest of the day after church packing for our trip the next day!

RJ GRADUATION

Our nephew RJ graduated from Queen Creek High School on May 28th. We still can't believe he's that old. Look at what a stud he is...

Erik & I talk all the time about how impressed we are with him. He's such an awesome kid! When he was 15 about to turn 16 he had longer hair. His Bishop requested he cut his hair before he turned 16 & started blessing the sacrament. He didn't even think twice & cut his hair. How many kids do you know at this age that are fans on Facebook of Joseph Smith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jesus Christ & Thomas S. Monson? Not to mention that he's cute, athletic as all get out & just a very well rounded kid. We had fun watching him play football earlier in the year. Next is his mission & we're anxiously awaiting his call. We can't wait to find out where he will be going! Here he is with his family. This is Erik's brother Ron & his wife Nikki. The kids are RJ, Kaija, Kevin, Derek & Ciara. WE LOVE THIS FAMILY!!!

BABYSITTING

My sister Steph will kill me. Good thing she never looks at my blog! :) She was sweet enough to watch our girls on our anniversary, so that Erik & I could go out.

I guess I should say that Erik & I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversay! We went out to Someburros for dinner (where we went on our first date) & then we went to see Angels & Demons. Which I liked that movie, but Erik didn't think it was that great. I'm more easily amuzed.

OK - back to my story. While Steph was babysitting they must have played dress up & took pictures. Well, I just found these gems!! Here's a lesson to all - don't take pictures with my camera unless you want that to be leaked out - HAHA!!

PARAMORE & NO DOUBT

***I am ridiculously behind on blogging. There are a few new posts on here & MANY more to come...***

My lovely sister Stephanie bought tickets to the Paramore / No Doubt concert for my sister Allison's birthday. Well, Allison ended up not being able to go. LUCKY ME!!
Steph asked me if I wanted to go - UH YEAH!! It was so much fun. I've seen No Doubt before - back in the old days. I had forgotten how much fun they are live. It was a real treat to see them again. Paramore was really good as well. I give MAJOR kudos to their bass player who did a barrel roll over the guitarist while playing! That was awesome!! We had a blast!

Thanks again Steph!! (Oh & Allison for having to go out of town! :) )

Jay's GRADUATION

May 21st was Jadyn's Kindergarten graduation. The year has just flown by!! Jadyn was such a good student. An award was given of "Citizenship Award for the Year" to a student by her teacher Miss Ritter. When Miss Ritter was announcing the award she said that "He best represents all of our values for the year". It was given to only one student & then she called Jadyn's name. We were shocked! Especially since she said "He" a couple of times. We're so proud of Jadyn & the great example she is to everyone. She received all "O"'s for Outstanding & all 100%'s for her grades. She is definitely ready for 1st grade.
Jadyn with Miss Ritter...
Erik & I with the "Citizen of the Year"
Jadyn with her friend Betsy Hughes....
P.S. - I owe a HUGE thank you to Betsy's mom Katie for these pictures. I took the battery out of my camera to charge it & forgot to put it back in. Not a fun find right before the graduation began! I was sick to my stomache!!
